I like figuring out how things work and making things of my own.

Visual effects gives me plenty of room for both. Building an environment means making creative decisions and working through technical problems, often at the same time. I enjoy that overlap, including writing tools when a process could work better.

Outside work, I’m usually taking photographs, building or repairing something, or working on computers, keyboards, and vehicles. I also design parts to 3D print and spend time printing and painting models.

The small details hold my attention. I can spend a long time adjusting how a keyboard feels or getting two printed parts to fit properly. It’s satisfying to understand why something works, then make it work a little better.
